Day Home

May 14th, 2008

Drove to Elizabeth City last night, but stopped to rest before coming home this morning. Spent the day at home, and took the old chair out to the truck to be trashed. We went to dinner at Tommy’s and had the Flounder Basket, with Fries and Slaw. Mary joined us for dinner a little after 6 PM. I went over to Food Lion and picked up a few items to take on the truck. Headed out to start my trip up to Westhampton, NJ after I picked the load up in Franklin, Va.

Short Visit Home

March 3rd, 2008

Just meI made it home for a few hours this time on Monday. Delivered the load that morning in Richmond, Va. Then had a delay on picking the load up from Franklin, VA. Not that we were in a hurry, since it had been three weeks since the last time I was near home even. We had dinner up at Tommy’s for the first time together since they’ve expanded it into a full size family restaurant now. Had some time to catch up on some emails and see the rest of the families MySpace sites. Then it was time to head back up to the truck and pickup the load in Franklin. Next delivery is in Nina, Wisconsin for this Wednesday, but with the weather so bad up north, it might take a stretch to get it there in time.

Dad

February 28th, 2008

My Dad This photo was taken of my Dad in late October, 2007 at my sister’s Shelly and Linda’s homes. We were getting geared up for the Martinsville Race that took place the following day. Shelly and Linda had just moved to NC a few months back, so they were still getting settled and moving things around. And then there was the construction going on to create more bedrooms for my nieces and nephews in the new basement areas. We were able to stay for several days and enjoyed visiting with my sisters, the kids, Dad, cousin Rick and his wife Becky, and meeting their son Danny’s girlfriend that had come up from Florida with him. Both Troy and Chase were able to attend the races with us this year, so the van behind Dad was really packed on our trip out there the following day. Amy and Ruth weren’t able to make the trip this year, since it would have required Ruth to miss too much school.

Getting Started

February 28th, 2008

My truck and meHere it is, the end of Feb and my wife installed this new look for my website now. I haven’t really had the time to keep up with adding a new look, or adding anything useful for others to see here for more years than I can remember right now. So this is a cool way for me to start fresh, without the need to re-read all my books and manuals on creating web sites again. I’ve done plenty of work in the past with tweaking and configuring web sites to look the way I wanted, but these past several years have found me moving in other directions, that don’t really involve the time it takes to build onto sites anymore. This will be a cool way for me to share the details of my journey’s, when I’m in a position to add them in place. Since we’re both learning these tools and understanding how they work, please bear with us as we get something useful in here.
